None of those things are elements. Really they're all exactly what they sound like. Lady, "Dispatcher" is a human job, but you are some weird force of nature, what it might sound obvious to you isn't obvious to us. The Dispatcher isn't a human, right? Let's keep things mannerly, please. No, the Dispatcher is certainly not a human. It detects temporal irregularities and assigns elements to fix them. We report to it.

How do elements fix temporal irregularities?

How do elements fix temporal irregularities? It's all right. I'm hardly going to be offended by a human. How? With great difficulty. (Ha.) More seriously -- that's a very long and complicated question, perhaps not suited for this thread.

Until my discovery of this forum HIVERs were the only intelligent life known to HIVERs. It is moderately distressing that HUMANs and similar appear to be the majority of the persons connected to this forum.

I don't even think there are other familiars in the forum Nor elements, sadly. At least some of the people here seem to be more like elements than humans; it would be very tedious if there were really only humans here.

HIVERs take a wide variety of forms depending on the tasks required of them. For example, Warriors weigh over 20 times as much as Cleaners. Geneweavers are the most prestigious and renowned HIVERs. I am a lowly Builder Supervisor, assigned to command teams of Drones in various construction projects. The key identifying factor of HIVERs is our brain structure. All HIVERs have an organ capable of psychically linking to their Commander. All HIVERs produce memory crystals over many years, which contain frequently accessed procedural and episodic memory. Though HIVERs at all levels have vaying cares and hopes and dreams, and to an extent choices on how to live their lives, for most HIVERs the greatest and most sublime joy is serving the HIVE exceptionally well.

What happens if they don't serve the HIVE well? They are not reborn through their memory crystal after death. Better than what I was expecting. Unless bringing back a hiver is a trivial effort? what happens with a unused memory crystal?

To be reborn, a Princess or Queen must ritually consume your memory crystal during ovulation. There are only so many Princesses and Queens. I would estimate 5-10% of HIVERs are reborn. Unused memory crystals are a rare delicacy. Consuming them imparts some fraction of the owner's skills and experiences, even in non-Royals.

So, what, either your population is dropping ridiculously quickly or your "Queens" are choosing to have more than 90% of new births be completely new people at the expense of older, experienced people who would already know how to do things?
What an idiotic way to manage things.
