That is almost definitely from my world. The Foundation has the artifact contained, but it is—or was—extremely powerful. One of our people sealed the entity outside our world at the cost of his own life, and the key to the gate was dangerous enough to depopulate the earth.
You say you destroyed the entity behind it? I need to make some calls.

It was extremely irritating to deal with. Does your world contain more extremely irritating things?

It sure seems like it.

We've confirmed that the key is now just a key. It's being kept in containment anyway, of course, just in case there's something else on the other side of that gate that tries the same trick.
Yes, there are other irritating things. Given the nature of this kind of threat it's a certainty that I don't know about all the similar hazards, but they exist. There are other malevolent entities that operate primarily or entirely through information, and there are others that have little in common except the magnitude of potential disasters. Is their existence by itself irritating, or is it only when the hazard reaches you?

It is irritating to deal with such hazards. And they will all reach me eventually, since I do not intend to never look at your world again.
It would be useful if you could describe the location and history of as many such hazards as possible, and whatever can be safely known about their unusual properties, so that I can look at your world without accidentally discovering more of them.

OK everyone, my disciplinary hearing is scheduled for later today. Hopefully I can make them see reason - seriously, I had no way of knowing that those homicidal constructs belonged to CORE when I busted them, and hells, I wouldn't have done anything different even if I had known! They were trying to kill people! They were trying to kill me! Surely there's no way they can blame me for defending myself... right? Ugh. Well, at least my boss has my back, for all that's worth.
Anyway, wish me luck! Hopefully I'll be back in a few hours, with my head still firmly attached to my shoulders (haha, no, kidding, they wouldn't execute me... I think).

I also think you did the right thing, and wish you luck.
Could you tell us more about this CORE?

Whew. Thanks for all your good wishes, guys - they mean a lot to me.
I knew there was something fishy about my situation, and I was right: turns out the bigwigs just needed someone to blame for the incident, and I was the only convenient target. See, those simulacra (which I was figuring had been stolen or something) were actually supposed to be PEACEKEEPING units. One of the bigwigs – we’re talking MAJOR influence and power here – ordered them sent onto the streets without conducting the proper safety tests first, and a bunch of people ended up dying.
Now, I’m about the furthest it’s possible to get from being a politician, but I believe the general sentiment was that it would be incredibly bad for CORE’s public image if that little truth were to get out. So... they blamed it on me instead. Barely even bothered to pretend otherwise. I wish I could say I was shocked or disappointed, but I’ve never had much faith in the guys at the top anyway – that’s not why I’m here.
Most of them were all for sacking me outright to make a clear statement for the public, but thanks to an impassioned defense by my boss, they decided to just put me on probation. (He may be uptight and a total dork, but my boss can be pretty all right sometimes. Don’t tell him I said that.) So anyway, I guess I’ll be fine as long as I don’t step on any toes. It rankles a bit, sure, but at least I have all of you to distract me from the unfairness of it all. Thanks for your support.
(And Andrew, I’d be happy to fill you in on CORE, but this post is getting long as it is – I’ll try and finally muster up the concentration to post some stuff about Sanctum in the News and Information threads.)

I don’t know what sort of terms your probation usually has, but this sounds a lot better than what you were thinking it might be. It would have been better if you’d gotten off, but at least you weren’t sacked or jailed or anything like that.

It was extremely irritating to deal with. Does your world contain more extremely irritating things? It would be really nice if you dealt with all the really dangerous things in Archangels world, but it might be that one of them has more Might than you and will eat you if you're not careful. As a general rule too many things are combing the whole Multiverse at any one point for anyone to notice you quickly and superficially looking at stuff and even magically checking if you can affect them without actually affecting them. If you're looking at something too long it might however take notice that you aren't a nonsentient process sifting through absolutely everything that exists. If you end as much suffering as safely possible I promise you to give you any help I can give you with any thing, even if it takes up a lot of my time.

Your concept of Might does not apply to me.
