Does this mean that each message attempt might have made a “new” manifestation, such that people in Keter could now access the forum via German town criers? I can tell you empirically that this is not currently the case. We are temporarily deactivating 335. This should force the forum to change either its present manifestation or its manifestation's mode of communication, depending on what exactly is going on. My next post will be using the method of response provided by...whatever it does next. Mother Starlight, does it still look like a single oddly-behaved format from your end? Yes. I have debug-level logging on, so it may be slightly slower than usual, but hopefully I'll be able to see what it's doing.

Cardea: The manifestation of this forum in Archangel's world seems to behave in a lot of weird ways, such as the "wildebeest" (a kind of animal) mentioned in one of 3359's posts. I don't know what the wildebeest did exactly, but I haven't heard of any other manifestations of this forum that involved animals doing things, so it's an example of the weird things that manifestation does. It also sounded from 3359's post like whatever the wildebeest did, it was inconvenient for the people in Archangel's world.
Archangel said that the people in that world were going to try doing something to make their manifestation of this forum change how it appeared to them, and I said "I can't help feeling like this is going to end in wildebeest", meaning that I expect whatever their manifestation of this forum does is probably going to be weird and inconvenient for them.
Is that a good explanation?

Yes, thank you. I wasn't familiar with wildebeest and didn't notice the mention in 3359's posts. I find their posts difficult to read.

I can imagine you might. 3359's posts don't seem to be intended for people on this forum to read, and from your posting history it seems like your language is very different in a lot of significant ways from Earth-type languages like what 3359 is almost certainly using, and your world is different from worlds like theirs and mine. The forum's translator probably can't compensate for all the differences, although from what I can tell, it's doing a surprisingly good job.

Incident report 3359-1-11
Following the temporary deactivation of SCP-335-149, the anticipated manifestation of SCP-3359 occurred. At ██:██, Foundation personnel broke into song. Statements taken afterward indicate that they “just felt like it,” and that the spontaneous choreography seemed normal at the time.
After ██ minutes, they gradually converged toward Agent ███████ in █ groups corresponding to the subdivisions of SCP-3359 as it appeared at that time. Agent ███████ joined one such group, at which point the affected personnel reorganized themselves. Each group began singing the content of a thread from the selected subdivision in a [REDACTED] style. The execution was noticeably more skillful than prior musical experience would indicate. Lyrics were in no language known to or easily decipherable by the Foundation, and the performers no longer understand relevant recordings of themselves.
Security intervened while Agent ███████ was performing a response. All affected individuals are being checked for any lasting mental interference. Due to its extraordinarily low security risk, anyone with a Level 2 clearance or higher may requisition a copy of the video from the Site █ I.T. department for $█.██.
Note from Dr. ████: OVER MY DEAD BODY. YOU'RE NOT SEEING ME IN A SONG-AND-DANCE ROUTINE FOR LESS THAN [DATA EXPUNGED].

Of all of the possible ways to send a message I think a song and dance routine is one of the best! Much better than wildebeest.

Yeah, I think you might want to wait until Mother Starlight says she has the configuration looking like the author was not on acid before you try re-activating notifications with your usual manifestation blocked. A musical number is relatively innocuous, if embarrassing. It could have been much worse.
Also, if anybody with a Level 2 clearance can requisition a copy of the security footage, I’m surprised it didn’t show up here. I’m guessing that there’s some lying in this report, as you said would happen.

Between the musical number and the wildebeest I think I'd probably prefer the wildebeest. Happily, I do not have to make this choice.

Oh dear.
Well, at least I got some good data out of it.

Wait, if the language wasn’t recognized, how do you know they were singing the contents of the threads?

We are very good at what we do.

That's not an answer.

@andrew, @leaf: The Foundation knew their personnel were singing the contents of the threads without recognizing the language by comparing the dancing choreography with the count of topics and subforums, and how long most posts are. They were already prepared to compare however the forum contacted them to what they knew about the forum. They also were expecting it because the forum had already contacted them in that way before.

So, data analysis. That's not even an interesting secret, unless data analysis was substantially worse than I think it was a thousand years ago. (It can't be that bad, right? You had computers...)
Of course, that's assuming Dotted Lines is speaking accurately.
