I'm familiar with animals by those names, but I don't think they're usually people. ...I have a wacky hunch, please bear with me for a minute. Our animals by those names tend to be very different from each other in size; for example, a bear is several times taller than a squirrel. Do your kinds have that much variation? Also, what kind of posture/gait do you usually use -- walking on all four limbs? walking on two limbs and using the other two for manipulation? I walk on two limbs and use two more for manipulation. That's the most common way here, but not the only way. One of my friends is a mammoth, and he walks on four limbs and manipulates things with his trunk. My mammoth friend is several times bigger than me, but bears aren't usually more than twice my size, and sometimes smaller than me. Maybe our bears are smaller than yours?

Or maybe our squirrels are smaller.
It sounds like many of your kinds are sort of like variations on an implicit human base, like mostly-humans with animal traits added on. So humans would have "the qualities of all other kinds of people", but in the opposite sense than you imagined: not all the qualities of each other kind, but only the qualities shared by all the kinds.
...Do you have apes or monkeys in your world? Humans are a type of ape, though in comparison to other apes we tend to stand upright more and have much less fur.

Here, we have humans, but for many centuries adult humans have been divided into two types, which we call larties.
Gens are physically like the Ancients from which we descend, but they produce large amounts of life energy, called "selyn". Most of the selyn produced by a Gen is unused, they live on calories like animals or the Ancients.
Simes (like myself) have six tentacles on each arm which we normally keep in sheaths along the forearms, and which in most people extend just beyond the tips of the fingers when fully extended. Four of these (arranged in pairs on along the front and back of the arms) ct as extra fingers, or even hands (they are much stronger then might be obvious from appearance). The others, which run along the sides of the arms are much more delicate, and vital because we must use them to draw selyn from Gens to sustain ourselves. We eat food, but only in small amounts to provide the raw material for tissue repair.
Simes have the ability to sense (zlin) the selyn fields of people. Broadly speaking, this provides an idea of their general health, and emotions.
The primary problem we have is that for most Simes, drawing selyn from most Gens, the process is fatal for the Gen in question, due to catastrophic nerve damage. This naturally created a very nasty situation, with Simes treating Gens as livestock, breeding them in drugged captivity, or raiding into Gen settlements to kill or kidnap, and Gens fearing and hating Simes. To make the problem even larger, we do not breed true within larties, 1/3 of the children of a couple of one larity will be of the other, and there is no way (that has yet been discovered) to tell for sure which is which until they reach puberty, as children are in an immature undifferentiated form. Sime parents typically sell off their Gen children, though some may try to help them get to Gen Territory, while Gen parents must hope they discover children in changeover -the process of a Sime maturing into an adult- and beat them to death, or shoot them with their guns before somebody, often a family member is killed.
I am a rare kind of Sime called a channel, who is able to draw selyn from any Gen gently enough to avoid hurting them, and pass this to other Simes so they don't have to kill a Gen for it. We can also manipulate a person's selyn field in ways that heal them. We have Gens called Companions to help us, they are able to survive selyn draw at fast speeds and they personally satisfy channels, because channels do not do well getting selyn from other channels. Companions also provide other services for their channels during their work which I kind of don't know how to explain, and this post is getting pretty long already.
Channels and their Companions have formed a number of enclaves, called Householdings, where Simes and Gens can live together peacefully. Unfortunately, the surrounding Sime society does not like us, due to complicated reasons, and also stubbornness, so they persist in doing their raiding and kidnapping and drugging thing, and the head channel of the Householding, legally owns all the Gens in the Householding, and we have to pay a lot of taxes, and every so often they raid us, so it's still moderately terrible. And as far as I know, the people in the Gen territories don't even know the Householdings exist, and would shoot all the Simes with their guns if we tried to move in there.
I'm probably forgetting a ton of stuff.
Oh, as far as religion goes, we don't have a lot of that here, but I think in Gen Territories they believe that there is a God, and that Simes are demons, or possessed by demons or something. I'm not an expert in out-Territory culture. We haven't managed to rescue a Gen Territory captive from the auctions in my lifetime. The bigger Householdings do most of that. It's expensive.

Your world is no good. My mama and daddy wouldn't ever sell me or kill me, I don't think. It would be good to have tentacles, but not if I had to live in your world. I never met anyone with tentacles, but there were bugs with them on Tilvenain and they built little houses out of dirt so the hoppers couldn't get in and eat them. Nest has demons, i think. You have to be careful but it's safe in the dark because they can't see you at all.

Not all of us are human. And you appear to have blue hair, judging by your avatars.

I am definitely lucky to live in a Householding where I did not have spend my childhood worrying about what I would be when I grew up, and my parents did not have to worry about losing their children. Maybe someday everyone will be Householders and nobody will have to kill or be killed or murder their children.

It's called dye.I find that on this forum it is a bad idea to assume that something strange is due to a perfectly reasonable explanation, such as hair dye. For all I know, you could be some kind of wizard, and the blue hair is a manifestation of your ability to fly off into space with your mind. Or something. Weirdness occurs here.

I am a dwarf, but to be more specific I am a metahuman or a subspecies of human. There are many sapient beings in my world. There are other metahumans such as elves, orks, trolls and regular humans of course. Those are beings that we all agree are sapient. Then there are the drakes, dragons, and other Dracoforms where it's a minor debate. There are also free spirits a spirit from the metaplanes that has decided to stay in our world. There are the weirder cases like centaurs and sasquatches who are sapient but some think they are not. I guess I could throw AIs and free sprites in there as they technically are sapient.

I've met the Mycota. They're not actually from my world. They contacted The Organization once we started trading with other species.
They aren't actually individuals. They frequently merge with each other which means combining all of their memories and knowledge. So they're are sort of like one creature with a bunch of autonomous bodies. They're really technologically advanced, but they have a hard time sharing their knowledge. They're not used to communicating in words.
They're aquatic spheres. They look like giant marbles and are slightly squishy. When they merge they combine into one mass and separate out again.
They're really friendly, so if anyone wants an introduction I'm happy to do it.

Most *campers* are not so good at *squirting*. Mycota seem *happy*, but not *campers*; same as Orz, but not? It would be *fun* to *squirt* at them!

I think I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure. Is squirting sharing information? The Mycota do get along with other species, though they don't always understand them. Do you want to talk to them?
