Although Xom can no longer affect me, I would appreciate it if you would protect other forum members from him. He is highly irritating.

A message from Mother Starlight clued me (or rather, Nemelex, who naturally informed me of his conclusion right after I had replied to the message) in to a probable solution that doesn't require council action.

Apparently I linked myself into Zot a little too closely. Xom should no longer be able to mess with arbitrary forum users.

From now on, it should be impossible for the forum to be a carrier for any kind of magical effects like this.

It seems Zin has also seen fit to adjust the laws that govern us gods while you were doing that, since I brought up the discrepancy that made Xom's actions here not immediately red-flag for invalid targeting, so other forces from other worlds coming in too close of contact also shouldn't cause the same issues. It will make finding adherents a little less convenient, but oh well.

Unfortunately, my alpha is a tad busy right now; I'm afraid the World of Darkness's eyeball-exploding scrying defense is remarkably immature. Though rather creative in its attempts at killing me. ...What? Seriously, what? What are you doing to my world?

Some local power has taken exception to this. Currently, it has exploded my eyeballs ten times, detonated my body explosively twice, torn my body to shreds once, and scattered my body by teleportation across successively greater volumes of the planet three times. It has also attempted to mug me with demons, which I am currently keeping for study - - oh, that was a scrying focus. Silly me. Pardon me, I have a rather immature (though remarkably creative, if a tad sadistic) god to attend to. I will return momentarily.

Ah.
Well.
I, uh... hadn't quite realized how dangerous the effect I was running into earlier was.
The appearance of a 'sadistic god' in response to an attempt to gather information is a rather unwelcome consequence.
This is rather alarming news. Especially considering that I'm currently operating an interworld information-gathering device.

Especially considering that I'm currently operating an interworld information-gathering device. The forum seems to bypass it somehow. At any rate, it seems to react proportionally to the depth and power of the probe; it didn't start getting really nasty until I started asking it questions about itself. As long as you don't poke it too hard, you should be fine. On the note of poking it too hard, do you happen to have existing information on this phenomenon? Either you, the Technocracy, anyone in your world? I appear to have annoyed it and would prefer not to reopen negotiations until I have more information. If it helps, it finally identified itself as "The Gauntlet."

I don't personally have that kind of information, no. I would normally rate my ability at getting more information as pretty excellent, but under the circumstances, I shall refrain from poking the scary defence system.
The Technocracy might know more, but they don't generally share that sort of information.

I would expect poking the defense system to be a remarkably poor idea for people without my particular very thorough brand of immortality, yes. Nevertheless, I imagine that people have tried anyway, and that some have succeeded in grasping a few morsels - I was mostly hoping that your Peerage might have a library or archive of such data somewhere. Is there any way you could put me in contact with a member of the Technocracy? It would not be impossible for us to negotiate a trade of favours, I hope.

Argus nominally has a forum account, though he (it?) doesn't seem to be posting. Send them a message?

After death, we live on only in the memories of the survivors. You can find minds with large bodies - can you find the Cave of Big Things? The creatures there are several times larger than their counterparts here.

Can you describe this cave and its things in more detail?
