(Sorry it's been a while since I responded. My friend recommended that I spend less time writing to the forum-scroll because it was distracting me from the rest of my research.)
Recently, there was a rain of weird frog-things! They have differently structured leg bones than frogs from this world, and they ooze some sort of acid, so the tops of many things in the area are slightly melted and burnt. I took a few photograms and measurements of the sky, and got some samples and a drawing of the frog-things! The photos are still developing and my measurements are noisy, but I'm pretty sure a window opened somewhere in the sky, and the frog-things fell through into the rainstorm!
Also, a few weeks ago my friend helped me get a lot of good nonperishable food at once and figured out how to store it. Now I don't have to waste so much time going to town buying groceries and answering or avoiding questions about my research!
