Generally, the reactors in question are used to produce the energy in the first place, in large production plants.
The advantage of miniaturized versions on my world is that they are easy to refuel (pure water is easy to obtain) and contain no telltale high mana density as would be expected from a spell.

Sorry about my delay in response. This nuclear energy (I got the term from MagicPhD's manual) seems to be a particularly difficult way of producing energy. I suppose I didn't think about it, but is coal energy, solar energy, or lightning energy not available to everyone? That is our main source of energy overall, though solar took some time before it became commercially viable.
(If this is too off topic, I will take this elsewhere. Sorry for the diversion.)

Here is as good as anywhere, I suppose.
The benefit of nuclear power is that is is very potent; an single nuclear reactor can supply much more than a coal plant. Some nuclear reactors can run on water, which is very inexpensive. The problem with coal power is that coal is finite: there's only so much of it on a given plant. Additionally, burning coal release lots of ash, smoke, and other pollutants. Solar power is difficult to get efficient enough to provide enough power. There simply isn't enough lighting strikes happening to power everything, not to mention how unpredictable this is as a powersource.

Yes, we've been dealing with the issues of coal and oil as much as we can, but our technology really hasnt quite allowed us to move away yet (and it is extremely cheap and easy to use.)
I will be honest. I hadn't even thought about the difficulties of harnessing lightning in a world where you can't beseech the gods of storms or lightning for a blessing of power.
Solar power may also get a boost from local gods of the sun as well. I will look into it, but maybe I can share some of the technology (If it doesn't violate any rules)? We get about forty percent efficiency from our commercial kinds now, and up to seventy is possible in the labs.

I'm not sure what rules it would violate. I don't have any objections.

I'm not sure what rules it would violate. I don't have any objections. I meant rules from my world. We have not established how copyright and intellectual property will be managed legally across interuniversal borders. But asked, and I can provide a some of the Orunmepedia articles on it, which contains a large amount of open-source information. The details on how everything is done specifically, but I can look up some more information if it will help. (Though I won't break any rules or risk trouble if there is any restrictions on the questions you ask, of course.)

I am somewhat of a connoisseur of nonmagical weapons. It looks like a SW-style magnetically contained Plasma launcher or "Blaster" of middling power to mass ratio. The pocket dimension thing is practical I guess, especially if someone destroys the thing and the fire is put out, but it's pretty wasteful.

Thank you, Hassadah.
I showed the designs to a colleague of mine: while the superconductors aren't quite room temperature here, they are much better than what we had. The solar power designs look like they could also start pushing up consumer solar efficiency: most mass producible panels are ~25%, though ~50% has been seen in the lab.

I'm such an idiot! No wonder that Blaster's not working! I forgot to cool the superconductors!

.. Did you not read the thread title?
Don't bother trying to steal one; it probably wouldn't work in your world anyway.
