I subtly felt like I was missing a joke or two. This thread is for explaining jokes, references, and other things that might be missed. And for asking, if there's something you noticed but didn't get.
Milliways is an interdimensional bar found in glowfic but not originating from it, named after the Restaurant at the End of the Universe from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "Callahan's" is Callahan's Cross-Time Saloon, another bar with a wide, weird, and wonderful clientele. The Inn of the Black Door is yet another interworld bar, from Tales of MU. The Wood between the Worlds is from the Narnia series, specifically The Magician's Nephew. The Library of Babel is originally from Jorge Luis Borges; my interpretation is also influenced by Sam Hughes. L-space is from Discworld. Arthur Dennison's diary is Dinotopia. Lemuel Gulliver's diary is Gulliver's Travels. The Silent Gondoliers is by William Goldman, attributed to his fictional author Simon Morgenstern; Goldman/Morgenstern are better known for The Princess Bride. Love's Labour's Won is a real Shakespeare play, mentioned in lists of his works, but there are no known surviving copies of the text; it is sometimes speculated to be an alternate title for various surviving plays. The Tempest is (I think) Shakespeare's only non-fanfiction play. The Gospel of Judas was lost for a while and recently rediscovered. The Voynich manuscript is real but in an unidentified, untranslated language.

'Carp' for Lurking's world is a reference to the infamous effect a couple of the bugs in previous versions of Dwarf Fortress - naturally water-based creatures would get exp for swimming anyway, leading to super-strong fish; dwarves who saw an 'enemy' creature would react by dodging in an entirely random direction before trying to run away, including possibly toward the creature in question. Also up 'till a couple versions ago rivers and lakes were generated with sheer banks such that novice swimmers couldn't climb out of them. Result: Many, many dwarves getting mauled to death by vicious carp.
Also it's kind of a pun, the world is pretty crapsack. ^^

I have to say, I giggled intensely once I realized Carp was DF.

Hadassah has made a couple references to it, but when she says she is "branded by Truth" she means it literally, though she is trying to make a joke of it. On her forehead the Hebrew word for "Truth" ('emet') is carved into her clay as part of the ritual to animate her.
Also, when she says that she manages configuration management and quality at her office, she is basically the person that makes everyone does their paperwork and follows company procedures, on topics ranging from safety to budget report formatting. She tries to minimize her influence as much as she can... but she still is a stickler for rules. If anyone has any experience in an office environment, she is basically one of the least-liked persons, professionally, that there is. (At least that is my experience in the engineering field. I assume it follows for government law enforcement offices and most offices in general. No one likes bureaucracy-enforcers. )

Mark's username is Twig. The word "clone" comes from a root meaning twig.
