The Many Worlds Forum: where the standard procedure for comforting a panicking friend includes 'remove the local listening devices.' To be fair, it could also be literal bugs. Buzz.

It could also be the word 'bugs' made out of pure harm. I think I might have encountered that once. ... You're not pulling my leg, are you?

Considering my priors on what Dotted Lines' world is like, I'd expect the former. Or maybe insectile listening devices. Or maybe something even weirder because this forum just keeps doing that to me.

Flying words that kill you when you touch them are definitely a thing that I have encountered before. I'm not sure about 'bugs' in particular, but I know I've seen 'LIES' and 'OBEY'. Dimension VVVVVV was a strange place.

Dimension VVVVVV was a strange place. I think I can say fairly definitively that that's weird. I've lived in a dimension of masked entities who speak only in poetry, you know.

Hydracranial intertwined dancers feeding from each other amid the still waters of the koi pond, if you must be shallowly pedantic.

Or maybe something even weirder because this forum just keeps doing that to me. They're not usually that insectlike. They're microphones and cameras, other normal recording things, nothing weird or supernatural most of the time. Oh! Other people might not find them as easliy! If you're not sure where they are, check doorknobs, vases, ceiling fans, the undersdies of desks and beds, inside lamps, air vents, drawers, and shelves, between out-of-season clothes hanging close together, insideelderly pets, or sometimes theres just a random microphone sticking out of your wall you don't recognize. If there's any furniture you dnot recognize, move it outside the room just incase. If there's a piece of furniture that looks sorta like a person in a suit and sunglasses holding a handwritten sign that says smething like "I am a desk," it is actually probably a secret agent, and you should move that piece of furniture outside too.

Andrew: I thought canvas. That makes sense, was easier to find, but seemed to make her feel trapped.
Dotted Lines: I made sure all the speakers are off. I can't do anything about general alarms but if those are going off we'd need to move her anyway. If I deactivate all the mics and cameras how I am supposed to know if she needs something?
Maybe just the ones not in her line of sight, I could do that.
I brought in some water and food. What do I do if she ignores it, I know that can be a problem for biomorphs.
Everyone Else: I am trying to get advice here, can you speculate about bugs somewhere else?

A down comforter would be ideal, if they have those in your world. If she ignores the food, let her, but I might try and tempt her with something that smells delicious.

Oh right sorry! Dont try to make her eat it unless its been more than ~8 hours, because being force fed usually makes people more afriad. Try gently asking her to eat something first. Same thing applies for more than ~5 hours without water. Possibly sooner if its really warm there. If she reacts to something like shes more scared by it than by not having it do not try to force it on her.

Since it is a nervous breakdown in particular, try not to ask her any questions or ask her to do anything unless you absolutely have to. This includes eating and drinking. Do not join her in freaking out. Be calm and soothing. Speak clearly and to the point. And above all else, do what she tells you to do, if she tells/asks you to do anything.

Well, yes. Don't do it if it is obviously a bad idea.

Thank you, everyone. I think she's asleep now. The others should back in a few more hours, and they'll be able to help more.
