i'm not sure what u mean by "something could b arranged" that sounds vaguely ominous, but like, if you can kill the cowplant w/o getting it traced back 2 me go for it? cowplants r bad news
b careful though
Mozee:
oh wow, no ghosts. um. what happens when ppl die, then, do you just never see them again? if so, i'm, um, really sorry
when ppl die here they become ghosts? um. there's also a potion if u just want 2 try it for a little while and another 1 that lasts till u counter it (w/ambrosia but ambrosia is rlly hard to get)
they r translucent and different colors based on how they died and they can float and stuff. i mean other ppl can float but not, like, factory-standard humans. um. ghosts can turn invisible? on their own i mean. not for long but like, a few minutes, i guess. they can possess objects idk if there's a limit on that but they don't do it most of the time they're mostly immaterial but they can interact w/stuff if they want 2. and they eat and sleep and take showers and stuff, i have not been rude enough to ask them if those r things they really need 2 do
townies r anyone who's not entirely anchored to the plane, they kinda pop in and out of existence, if they're dead and their ghost hasn't shown up yet ppl could assume they were just not existing for a bit i've asked them where they go and they just kind of look at me it's weird *shrugs*
ghosts that aren't anchored are kind of a special case? they're always confused and sometimes they haunt things and break stuff and can't explain why they did it. once they're anchored that clears up though apparently they are in something called "the Netherworld" when they r not here, idk what's up with that, no 1 will tell me anything abt it and i don't wanna find out 1sthand

Yes, generally when someone dies here they're gone. That's all quite interesting.

There are mages fighting in the streets again. No consideration for whose apartment block or cabbage cart they might be smashing.

Lizzie, Are there any benign uses for cow-plants? If not, do cow-plants have a mixture of sap or other substances not present in other plants in your world?

i... guess u could keep 1 as a pet? and feed it meat that doesn't come from ppl? or only ppl that want 2 b ghosts anyway? there r safer ways 2 b a ghost and safer ways 2 get elixir of life, though
iiiiiiiii am not v. familiar w/cowplants inner workings but other plants can't digest meat. well. internally at least? fertilizer is a thing
the rlly annoying thing abt cowplants, though, is that they spit out a person's urn when they r done w/them, so then the person who owns the cowplant has it, so now i have 2 break into my neighbor's house

Lizzie,
I do not know what substances would be necessary for a plant to digest meat. If I had a sample of a substance only cow-plants contained in a specific composition, I might be able to design a small-seed strain that could only consume cow-plants.
If there is no such substance, unique to cow-plants, would it be possible to for you to spray a cow-plant with a specific mixture of a sap and water and seeds from a safe distance? It would only be useful for destroying cow-plants that you could get close enough to, and it might destroy other plants nearby, but it might be better than nothing.
I wish you luck in taking back your mother's container.

Some idiot started a bonfire in the middle of a town. They're just lucky that particular town has good emergency procedures. They cut the island that was on fire loose and cast it into the deeps before it could spread and only one person went with it. I didn't lose anything or get hurt, but it's extremely irritating to witness that kind of gross negligence (or malice, if it was deliberate).

It seems that every world has its dangerous idiots. (Unless it lacks people, maybe, or is stranger than strange... as some here seem to be.) At least the town had enough sense to handle it well.

Trust me, idiocy is one of the few multiversal constants. Even in the land of pointless poetry and dream-logic, they have ways to tell you you are being stupid.

I got into another pointless argument with my coworker. (The coworker I run the charity with, not a coworker from my job) Always tiring and frustrating.
And it looks more unlikely than before that finding this forum will actually lead to finding a useable massively efficient way to save lives, which is disappointing.

I find it distressing that individuals here seem to value continuity of individuals over the good of their hives as a whole.

We lost our parents when we are 15, a subway tunnel collapse. My mother helped many others survive by putting out fires and making the air inside flow better, but she along with my father eventually died.
We are visiting our grandparents when that happened and were allowed to leave Tormondi to visit our parents in the hospital, but our younger sister stayed. When our parents passed away our legal guardian became a friend of our parents, but our grandparents didn't want to let our sister go and in fact wanted to have us all raised in the traditional Tormondi way.
The traditional Tormondi way involves arranged marriages for selective breeding for powers and power combinations, and because the USA doesn't want to get involved with the situation our sister is living with two people with that kind of mentality. It has been five years, we barely have contact with her anymore.

Your kind of individual is the exception and not the rule in the forum. Maybe it works for you, but most people here don't even have "hives".

It has been five years, we barely have contact with her anymore. Context: Tormondi (aka Stormlands for most english speakers) is a pocket dimension, the second largest one in our world. It has a unique magical problem, elemental beings that cause strong storms, these beings rest for two months and then go full active for an entire month. Tormondi is also the skymages' home, humans like me and my brother that have a hereditary kind of magic that gives various weather/sky powers, they are used to counter the storms. This resulted on a status quo where the skymages are on top and there is a strong cultural valorization of duty and community.
