What is a Memnos? How will that help fight germs when you only just learned of their existence? This falls under 'locally divergent physics.' (a.k.a. 'Magic.') Short version: In my world, if you ritually practice an action for long enough, you can perform it with an effort of will instead of having to physically move. This extends to the use of tools. I've just been given a new and useful tool, so it makes perfect sense for me to incorporate it into my Memnodyne (a mental toolbox, more or less.) With this additional level of detail, my control of my existing tools will grow exceedingly finer. It's well worth the month or so of extra work. If you'd like a more detailed explanation, I'd be happy to write something up to put in the magic thread.

That sounds interesting. I would indeed like a more detailed description in the magic thread.

>Adielae, Ground-anchored species=_? Heat below the crust= heat below plates, very hot melted rocks, yes? Your world's microbes, unusually dangerous -> plague? Or other unusual distinction?

Orz are not *many bubbles* like *campers*. Orz are just Orz. I am Orz. I am one with many *fingers*. My *fingers* reach through into *heavy space*. *Campers* *see* *Orz bubbles* but it is really *fingers*.

Are there other Orz? I'm not sure if the *many bubbles* of us *campers* refers to us having cells, or that each human is bounded by a bubble of skin.
It is clear that when the Orz reach out of their extradimentional space that can appear to be multiple entities but are in fact expressions of the same one.

You are a *silly* *camper*. I am always Orz. I do not have the name because I am Orz. Orz is the name. Perhaps next I *spit* of other MagicPhD? No? It is *silly*. Not a good joke.

So, Lioncourt... You only recently found out what germs are, have you checked what kind of atmospheric conditions everyone needs? Have you checked weather any of them brought or have taken with them germs foreign to your world? Your body has an immune system that kills germs it's familiar with and can identify, if you encounter a new germ the body might not be able to identify it as harmful and you could die while your body is confused.
Sometimes even genetically identical races might have acquired certain requirements. Humans on this planet for example like an atmosphere of one part oxygen and four parts inert N2 gas. Buut this inert gas could be hazardous for some organisms or required for others. Humans can survive lower concentrations of oxygen if they are exposed to them from childhood. Those then have averse reactions when they are exposed to higher concentrations.
Humans in high oxygen environments also have significantly lower unassisted lifespans.

If I'm confident I can handle Exsurgent in my world, I think it's safe for you to assume 'plague' and 'toxic gasses' are not on my list of things-I-am-worried-about.

Man, people in this forum are mightily confident in their safety... everyone is sure stuff from elsewhere won't be strange enough to kill them... You guys are pretty reckless and irresponsible.

I have seen so much weird shit... And at least where I am from, in my own universe there's a few hard limits: The speed of light is constant and the fastest nonmagical speed possible, all Magic has a hard Limit of 200 and I STILL get surprised and killed regularly. Even in the context of things and Magics I have proof and scientific grounding in there are things postulated that could end Toppled even with Father watching out for it. You can't possibly have any proof that an infinite multiverse can't surprise you, especially as you've in this Forum only have accumulated a very, very thin slice of possibility space. There's more diversity in any five planets in Toppled then in this Forum and it could easily be that one of the individuals you have contacted will face a First Contact scenario with something really nasty that then will continue to pick off the rest of you for fun.

Yes.
And despite that, we choose to communicate as far as we can. Carefully, with all due caution, but - at the end of the day, our lives are worth more if they are not ruled by fear.
