That is a bit rude, some forum people are just different. No, it isn't. I understood that he was asking for having his birth blessings, so I asked the Elay prime to draw them! Except when she tried she overcome with a weird sensation, none of the coins she was using fit, and she described a weird feeling in the air around her. Then she bolted and stopped at a closet where a few old coins are stored. The Elay Prime then drew three ghost coins, which made the feeling go away, except she was left shaken by the entire experience. She is never shaken, the woman gets joys daily. There must be something very wrong with Niryl!

I am confused by your description of "elements." You attribute emotions and personalities to them, which most humans do not, but your array of Elements is neither our true number nor any of the common misconceptions I have encountered. On the other hand, it seems possible that Elements vary from world to world, in which case some colleagues of mine will be most interested. From what source is your information, and have you more than you have set forth here?

I am not sure if I understand your question? The elemental affiliations are things from my day to day life. I am not sure the other worlds have their own variations? I actually wrote about possible other kinds of elements in my book, but that isn't the same thing.

You call Fire and Mind "Elements," and you attribute to them such characteristics as intelligence, charm, and creativity. How did you learn that they have these traits? Have you met them yourself, or is it merely hearsay? Is this common knowledge in your universe, or are your circumstances unusual? Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. Such discussions are challenging at times but often rewarding. ...and what leads to your first assertion? Are there dangers associated with this forum which I am unaware of?

You will be able to see a little earlier in the thread that Niryl caused something bad to happen to a friend of mine. It is common knowledge in my country that the elemental affiliations exist, people usually identify themselves with one or maybe two. There are the Elemental Primes, which are people from five different families, each have elemental powers like controlling fire, and each is a example of what the elements represent.

Are you still offering birth blessings? Yes! But I want to wait a bit more until there is more people making requests, so I can make all in a single batch.

Me and my brother would like our birth blessings sorted, we also have a few more people that might want to, but we are going to need time to prepare the full list.

This sounds interesting! I want to have my birth blessings sorted. I don't know about my grandparents, but I think my two older brothers would love it!

There have been some interesting studies on magic affecting chance like this, although many of them have just been hoaxes and superstition. I used to know someone who made a career of convincing people of predictions like that.
But these are described as specific and nonrandom enough that they might be real. I wrote a set of blessings and drew them, and got results I would expect from fair chance. When you have time, could you ask your friend to draw blessings for me, and I will try again afterward?

I got the impression that they were predicting the future rather than influencing it, not so much magic affecting chance as chance affecting magic. Maybe that's not a useful distinction.

Yes, but from the description, they influence the chance of drawing each blessing symbol, such as Write it Down's description of drawing "surprise" thrice in a row before finding the forum. (There is a weak divining magic from Cathay in which someone meditates and throws sticks to generate random numbers, which correspond to meanings in a book to predict the future. Studies seemed to show nonrandom and possibly predictive numbers, before they were discontinued.)

Aha, yes. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
(Why were the studies discontinued?)

(At the time, the Church's policy was that Rusakov particles were the physical manifestation of original sin and that divination was a trick of the devil to lure people away from their faith. The research group ran out of funding.)
