Whatever you want, as long as it doesn't make things dangerous for anyone. I spend my time drawing, and practicing magic, and sitting with my friend, and cooking, and going for walks in the woods, and swimming, and I've been learning to ride a horse.
Swimming is great when the weather is hot (and it does get pretty hot here sometimes) but you do want to have somebody there to help you. Even if you swim pretty well it's usually a good idea to have somebody else there, just in case. We usually have a designated strong swimmer posted by the swimming pond while people are swimming in case somebody gets into trouble.
lurkingkobold Kids don't always make the best choices if left to themselves, school is kind of important for teaching people how to function in society and also preparing them for jobs. I got to choose whether to do sculpture or various forms of music, or dancing when I was little, and when I was older I got to choose a lot more things about exactly what I learned in school so I could stop learning some things that I wasn't good at and learn more about things that I like and can do well. But everyone has to learn the basics of how to do math and how to write properly and how the government works and stuff. I guess you system is less complicated so kids can learn what they have to know from their parents?

Singer - yes they do? I mean, really little kids don't, but making good decisions is something people learn to do, and it doesn't take very long to learn it if they have the chance to - like, most little kobolds are pretty good at that by the time they're five or six years old, and have started to figure out what kinds of jobs they might want to learn to do by the time they're eight or nine.
Maybe humans age differently? Even if you do I'd be surprised if it took much longer, though, it sounds more like you aren't giving your kids the chance to learn, or aren't paying attention to whether they have learned.
Kit - I can try it. The spell will work with a good enough picture, and if the picture isn't good enough, nothing bad happens. Do you want to try it now?

Okay. It's going to take about two hours, one for me to get ready to cast the spell once I have the picture and another to get everybody back to where they belong; I can bring you here, where we have a special place to do magic that's safer if something surprising happens, or I can go to where you are. What do you want me to do?
