When Miles depleted more than half of his original tub of zorkmids via Cordelia wishing, he decided his initial zorkmid budget hadn't been nearly generous enough, so he got three more and passed one of them on to his friend Nope.

Leaf and his elven fugitive are actually pretty good friends now - she is helping him find his brother, they have exchanged swag (he has her magic, she has his technology and now zorkmids) and snark and information. Even if technically they still don't know each other's names. It's kind of cute. xD
Ms. Elven Fugitive agrees completely, DanielH, she is doing her very best to make sure those things don't happen.

I would love to see these offscreen plot threads some time, if y'all're willing to write them up.

I can make a google doc Kappa and I can edit, and I can muscle through the 'as of yet' messages, and maybe with our powers combined we can keep it updated, then drop a link? Kappa, thoughts on this thing?

I will shower praise and adoration upon anyone who figures out how to conveniently and repeatedly convert those .csv files that the forum exports into a nice tidy set of readable PM conversations that I can throw into a dreamwidth post or something. (Google docs sounds like a mild pain to edit and probably an enormous pain to format.) I've already mentioned it to taubeta and he said he'd try to come up with something, but idk.
if aestrix wants to put all the things in a gdoc without using the export feature i will shower praise and adoration on her too, but not quite as extravagantly because that sounds so inconvenient to keep updated.

Yeah the google doc is a huge pain, if tau says he'll maybe come up with something I will just as soon skip it.
So uh, it's not that we don't want to show you guys, it's that it's technologically annoying.

Kappa, this might help. Known limitation: it naively converts all [] to <> regardless of whether it's part of a valid markup tag, and Dreamwidth will silently drop imaginary tags. So if someone uses square (or angle) brackets in the actual text of their comment [like this], then the bracketed text will just disappear. Attachments:convertation.py (838 B)

I am attempting to make a better script which actually calls the ProBoards bbcode2html function, but I don’t have it yet and I might find complications like requiring a login.
Andrew looked at the order confirmations for QDS to see if anybody he didn’t trust had access to their magic. Both he and I were surprised at the orders. He was surprised the Foundation managed to make that quantity of zorkmids so quickly and that Nifl hadn’t ordered anything; I wasn’t surprised about the Foundation but was also surprised about Nifl.
Archangel, assuming SCP-038 can multitask (which isn’t clear in canon), can grow 10,000 zorkmids at a time (each zorkmid is 1/50 lb and the SCP can grow at most 200 of an object; I’m assuming it splits that between objects as it multitasks), and takes 5 minutes to grow a thing to completion, then it takes six Class D personnel repeatedly tapping zorkmids to its bark at 5–10 taps per second to fill it to near full capacity without going over. I believe the total of your orders is slightly less than 70 thousand zorkmids, so it took the foundation about 40–45 minutes of work (and at least 3 hours of bureaucracy) to pay for the order.
If SCP-038 cannot multitask, then you couldn’t have even had 100 zorkmids by the time you placed your first order.

Nifl is going slow on the zorkmid production front. She isn't in a big hurry.

The order confirmations were a great idea. I should've assumed that wouldn't stay secret.
038 can probably multitask; that fits better with the tree motif. But it doesn't need to be able to, because it can do containers. Some of the objects have multiple parts, and when they clone cans of beer the beer comes with it. I assumed they could do the same with bags of zorkmids. The maximum weight would put that at (just under) 10,000 zm every five minutes, without needing to constantly tap coins to the trunk.

Ah, yes, that works much better.

Will the company deliver the special orders from different customers in the same order they sent the confirmations? If so, then if the Foundation acts quickly they can prevent Leaf from receiving his special orders. I doubt he’d particularly care about the books, but he might then be the first to notice them acting strangely or disappearing after the invasion.

Leaf hasn't bothered special-ordering anything, on account of his mother can cast wish faster than he can order things from QDS.
I might have Nifl order some things from QDS and then order some more later...

Same order, yes. If anyone wants to try something like that, they'll have about a minute before the next delivery.

I'm slightly confused about what the "that" is in "try something like that", possibly because I should've been in bed an hour ago.
